SUMMARY:SoE on Culture\, Arts and Wellness
DESCRIPTION:Over time\, arts (poetry\, music\, drama) in their different forms and genres have proven to be good instruments and tools for the awakening of consciousness in the pursuit of peace and harmony\, fight for justice and promotion of social\, political and economic wellbeing of a people. \n\n\nIn this session of our School\, instead of the usual conversational instigator to scholar format\, we will have artistes communicate environmental ills and impacts of climate change using music\, drama\, poetry etc while also pointing the audience (scholars) to proposed solutions in the same manner. \n\n\nThe aim of this school session is to critically interrogate the nexus between climate change\, arts\, and wellness – with the aim of enhancing the wellbeing and wellness of community people affected by pollution\, floods\, deforestation\, and other ecological harms in Nigeria using arts. \n\nThe session will aid the broadening of impacted communities’ understanding of the root causes of climate change and environmental degradation\, while finding means of holding polluters accountable\, promoting the rights of Mother Earth.

SUMMARY:A Campaign against the Decommissioning and Abandonment Plans in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria
DESCRIPTION:The idea of decommissioning has become paramount in Nigeria due to aging of assets and mature fields operations as they are approaching the end of their economic life. However\, presently no facility has ever been decommissioned in Nigeria. Decommissioning is an inherently hazardous exercise that requires meticulous planning\, cognate experience\, efficient management and other relevant defined skill set for it to be successful.
